Fur Friend of the Week | Chaos | Lenoir County SPCA

Meet Chaos: the big-hearted head-tilter who’s stealing smiles at the shelter. At just 6 months old, Chaos has already mastered the legendary shepherd head tilt — the look that makes everyone stop, laugh, and reach for a treat. He’s a handsome, playful young guy who was adopted once but came back through no fault of his own. Now he’s ready for his “second, second chance.”

Chaos is:

Around 6 months old

Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative

Dog-friendly and eager to make furry friends

Working on leash manners (he learns fast and follows a friend’s lead!)

This big boy would thrive in a home that’s patient with leash training, offers regular social time with other friendly dogs, and loves goofy head-tilts as much as we do. He’s young, smart, and full of puppy energy — the perfect companion for an active family or someone looking to train and bond with a devoted dog.

Ready to meet Chaos?

If Chaos sounds like your kind of chaos, don’t wait — come meet him and see that tilt in person. Adopting a shelter dog saves a life and makes room for the next animal in need. The Lenoir County SPCA staff and volunteers will happily help match you with the right fit and walk you through adoption steps.

Give Chaos the home he deserves — adopt, foster, or share his story so he finds that forever family.

Jess says: “We adopted his brother. I will tell anyone considering to adopt him to absolutely do it. But I can tell you, his brother is driven and has a lot of energy, but he is so incredibly smart and responsive to his training. It will take consistent training, but he will be an amazing dog.

His brother is already completely off leash can recall and has become quite a Velcro dog. But just remember German shepherds can be difficult at times to train. That is why they need consistency. But once you make that bond and you consistently train, you cannot ask for a better dog. My dog is so incredibly smart and affectionate, and I can only imagine the same of this dog since they are brothers.”
